About the role
The Community Coordinator supports the planning, tracking, and coordination of Retiming Projects, Street Improvement Projects, Leading Pedestrian Interval (LPI) installations, SBS/TSP projects, Left Turn and LPI studies, and other Vision Zero initiatives. The role also involves maintaining database records for Accessible Pedestrian Signals (APS).
Responsibilities
- Prepare evaluation reports, conduct analyses, and review program plans for Vision Zero and Street Improvement Projects (SIP).
- Plan, implement, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate programs and projects that provide critical community services.
- Support the planning, tracking, and coordination of Retiming Projects, Street Improvement Projects, Leading Pedestrian Interval (LPI) installations, SBS/TSP projects, Left Turn and LPI studies, and other Vision Zero initiatives.
- Maintain database records for Accessible Pedestrian Signals (APS).
- Work closely with project managers across divisions and provide recommendations on signal timing policies and procedures.
- Prepare correspondence, close and archive completed studies, track project tasks and milestones, respond to inquiries from internal staff and external stakeholders (including elected officials, community boards, and the general public), process incoming communications, distribute assignments to appropriate staff, and maintain asset tracking databases.
Requirements
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above;
- High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above;
- Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above.
Preferred Skills
- Detail oriented, accurate, and able to demonstrate excellent verbal and strong written communication skills.
- Proficient in database usage and possess strong computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- The ability to communicate effectively with others and collaborate in a team-oriented environment.
