About the role

The Weights & Measures Division is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of commercial weighing and measuring devices throughout Minnesota, monitoring fuel quality, and providing precision measurement services to businesses across the state. The primary work location for the position is at the Weights & Measures Division Office in Burnsville, Minnesota.

Responsibilities

  • Receiving and routing public inquiries and complaints
  • Managing the Division's main phone lines and shared email accounts
  • Processing incoming mail and payments
  • Coordinating administrative aspects of the Placing in Service program
  • Providing administrative support to Division leadership and field staff
  • Assisting with maintaining records and tracking program information across multiple internal systems
  • Supporting the Division's safety program

Requirements

  • Customer Service skills (phone, in person, written, and electronic correspondence)
  • Word processing skills
  • Data Entry skills
  • Accurate spelling and grammar in written and electronic communication

Qualifications

  • Experience coordinating administrative support for regulatory, inspection, or compliance programs
  • Experience working with and/or using program tracking or other regulatory databases to monitor requests, complaints, or program activity
  • Experience managing shared phone lines or email inboxes used for public inquiries
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
