About the role
The Health Information Management Services team is seeking a dynamic Office and Administrative Specialist Intermediate (OASI) to join our team!
As an OASI, you will work closely with the Child & Adolescent Behavioral Health Hospital (CABHH) staff to ensure accurate, complete, concise, and compliant client records in regard to compliance with HIMS policies and procedures.
The OASI will work to effectively and efficiently maintain a quality system of records management in support of Direct Care and Treatment, Health Information Management Services (HIMS) clients and staff.
The position also exists to support DCT and CABHH in managing the integrity of protected health information.
Responsibilities
- Manage the census information system compiling data ensuring accuracy and availability of patient data demographics and statistical reports.
- Respond to all requests for release of information and/or access to patient records in a uniform and timely manner consistent with the specific legal and regulatory requirements associated with each type of request.
- Cookordinate the receipt and response to all legal papers received by the facility in accordance with commitment statues in addition to court orders and subpoenas for patient data from the medical record as required by court documents received.
- Perform Health Information Management Systems related work as needed to ensure necessary functions are carried out efficiently and effectively.
Requirements
- Written and oral communication skills to provide clear, concise, courteous, prompt, and effective customer service in-person and via email or phone to internal and external stakeholders.
- Data Entry Performance skills to input and verify data from source documents into a database with a high level of accuracy, maintain accurate records, and locate and correct data entry errors.
- Database, Documents, and Records Management skills sufficient to pull relevant data from databases and software applications and compile them in appropriate report format with adherence to applicable policy and statute requirements.
- Miscellaneous skills including math skills sufficient to add, subtract, multiply, divide numbers, and calculate averages, specialized terminology including medical terminology; document management; scanning, indexing and quality control, spreadsheet skills sufficient to update, track, log, create, and produce reports, word processing skills sufficient to develop and modify a variety of correspondence, records, reports, forms and charts.
