About the role
This position performs administrative, fiscal, customer service, and clerical support within the Carlos Avery and Cambridge Co-Located offices. The incumbent will provide assistance to the general public and other government agencies regarding programs and activities within the Wildlife Management Area and local offices.
Responsibilities
- Perform office management and administrative support functions to meet internal and external customer needs, ensuring effective communication, information flow, materials, operations, programs, and projects in accordance with State and DNR policies and procedures.
- Support budget management, purchasing processes, and fleet/asset management to meet financial obligations timely and in compliance with State, Federal, and DNR policies.
- Gather, verify, and summarize data for fiscal and administrative reports; process and archive reports following State and Federal retention guidelines.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of data-entry and result retrieval with department and division programs.
- Manage and administer the Carlos Avery and Cambridge Offices' Direct Cost Plan budgets.
Requirements
- Ability to perform administrative support work for a work unit’s expense and budget administration.
- Communication skills sufficient to interact effectively with internal and external customers.
- Ability to prepare, edit, and finalize emails, memos, reports, and other written communication that is grammatically correct, properly formatted, and free of spelling errors.
- Ability to accurately input, verify, and edit electronic data.
- Knowledge of standard computer software programs (word processing, spreadsheets, databases) to create, modify, and protect files.
- Skill in developing and implementing administrative and program policies, procedures, and service standards in cooperation with management.
- Typing/keyboarding skills sufficient to perform skilled typing tasks with speed and accuracy.
- Unrestricted Class D Driver’s license with a clear driving record (only those 18 years or older may operate agency vehicles).
- Ability to meet the physical requirements and work in the environmental conditions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.
Preferred Qualifications
- One or more years of clerical office experience providing a variety of office services for staff.
- Knowledge and efficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access software to compile, manipulate, store, and retrieve data.
- Knowledge of accounting functions to maintain budgets, pay invoices, and track expenses.
- Experience retrieving, archiving, and converting documents and electronic materials of different formats.
- Business English, spelling, and grammar skills sufficient to proofread materials and ensure accuracy and completeness of written materials.
Pay
$21.12 – $28.01 hourly; $44,099 – $58,485 annually
