Responsibilities
- Perform major overhauls of gasoline and/or diesel engines.
- Provide on‑the‑job training to lower‑level ODOT mechanic(s).
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, replace, and/or repair electronic systems.
Requirements
- 48 months experience in repair and maintenance of a variety of vehicles or agency‑identified equipment, with a valid commercial driver’s license if the motor equipment is regulated by Ohio Revised Code §§ 4506.01 & 4506.12.
- OR 24 months experience as an ODOT Mechanic (position 52152) with the same CDL requirement.
- OR equivalent qualifications meeting the minimum class requirements for employment.
- Must submit to a urinalysis drug test and a criminal background check prior to appointment.
- Must register in the FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse and comply with federal drug and alcohol regulations (49 CFR Part 40 & Part 382); marijuana use, including medical, is prohibited for this position.

Schedule
Full‑time. Work hours: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM.
