ODOC – SCI Correctional Sergeant Lateral Transfer Request (Salem)

Responsibilities
- Serve as a lead worker, ensuring facility operations run smoothly, safely, and efficiently.
- Supervise AICs during movement assignments, monitor high-security areas, and conduct security operations such as transports, searches, and emergency response.
- Play a key part in staff development, assisting in training and potentially mentoring subordinate staff as a Field Training Officer (FTO).
- Lead by example, modeling professionalism, accountability, and behaviors that support rehabilitation efforts.
Requirements
You must be a current ODOC Correctional Sergeant employee to be considered for a lateral transfer request. Lateral transfer requests are posted by institution.
Qualifications
Your request will be maintained in Workday and will be considered active: until the employee successfully transfers, until the employee withdraws the application, until the employee terminates employment from ODOC, employee did not respond to an interview request, or until two years from apply date per ODOC policy.
Skills
The successful candidate for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility.
