About the role
The Occupational Therapy (OT) Coordinator serves as the primary liaison between therapists, physician care teams, and clinic staff to ensure efficient patient care and exceptional service. This role combines administrative support, scheduling, patient communication, and operational coordination for the Occupational Therapy department.
Responsibilities
- Schedule and manage patient therapy appointments accurately and on time.
- Maintain and update therapist schedules to ensure clinics are properly staffed.
- Communicate promptly with patients, families, and providers about appointments and care details.
- Verify insurance information and obtain referrals and authorizations as needed.
- Cook up and organize patient records and related documentation.
- Monitor and manage departmental worklists to ensure timely follow-up on tasks.
- Order and maintain therapy supplies and equipment function for therapy clinic readiness.
- Aid in the onboarding/education of new staff and supporting clinic openings.
- Travel between clinics as needed to provide operational support.
Requirements
- High School diploma/GED required; Associate degree or higher preferred.
- 1-2 years of Customer service experience required; administrative or medical office experience preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Familiarity with health plan requirements and networks.
Qualifications
- Education: High School diploma/GED required; Associate degree or higher preferred.
- Experience: 1-2 years of Customer service experience required; administrative or medical office experience preferred.
Skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Familiarity with health plan requirements and networks.

Working Conditions
