Occupational Therapist - Therapy Coordinator Position

About the role

The Occupational Therapist acts as the primary liaison between the facility’s interdisciplinary team and the therapy department. They represent the therapy department at facility meetings and care conferences. Additionally, they manage patient/therapist schedules to align with patient treatment needs and coordinate with the primary therapy staff and MDS staff.

Responsibilities

• Main point of contact for communication regarding therapy department matters.
• Represent the therapy department at facility meetings and care conferences.
• Manage patient/therapist schedules to meet patient treatment needs and coordinate with primary therapy staff and MDS staff.
• Work as an integral part of a dedicated therapy team.
• Have easy access to local Regional Management Staff for support.

Qualifications

• Evaluate and treat patients according to physician orders using therapeutic procedures and assistive devices to maximize functional potential in all areas of a patient's life.
• Work as a member of a team providing support and information within the area of Occupational Therapy.
• Provide therapy services in various settings such as Skilled Nursing Facilities, Outpatient Facilities, Long Term Care Facilities, or Home Health Care.
• Hold a Bachelor of Science or advanced degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Be licensed/certified by the current state and registered with the American Occupational Therapy Certification Board.
• Have at least one (1) year of experience in rehabilitation.
• Display excellent oral, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Show willingness to provide therapy services in various settings.
• Show competency in applying the principles, methods, materials, and equipment used in occupational therapy.
• Show knowledge of accreditation standards and compliance requirements.
