Occupational Therapist (School Based)

Occupational Therapist (OT) Role & Responsibilities Assess students’ physical development, sensory processing, and motor skills to determine eligibility and develop treatment plans.Administer occupational therapy procedures to meet IEP/504 plan objectives.Collaborate with teachers, parents, healthcare professionals, and staff to coordinate services and develop intervention strategies.Identify environmental barriers and recommend accessibility improvements and assistive technology.Develop and implement interventions to enhance motor skills, independence, and participation in educational activities.Instruct students and staff on assistive device use and safety measures.Interpret medical reports, maintain detailed records, and prepare documentation including reports and billing.Participate in meetings, workshops, and site visits to provide direct therapy and consultations.Research resources and methods to optimize intervention effectiveness. Qualifications & Skills Registered Occupational Therapist license.Prior relevant experience.Valid driver’s license.Strong collaboration, communication, and assessment skills. Key Duties Serve as part of the IEP team to evaluate and determine student eligibility for occupational therapy services.Enhance students’ motor skills, safety, and independence through targeted interventions.Provide direct therapy, resource consultation, and develop adaptive strategies to support student needs. Work Environment & Compensation Onsite role in a school setting, with site visits to multiple locations.Part-time schedule of approximately 21-22.5 hours per week, aligned with the school year.Hourly pay rate between $60-65/hour, with benefits including health coverage, life insurance, disability, and 401(k) options for eligible employees.
