Location: Akron/Canton, OH • Onsite • Full-Time or Part-Time

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate Occupational Therapist to join an established school-based therapy team serving preschool and school-aged students throughout the Akron/Canton, OH area. The Occupational Therapist will evaluate students, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide therapeutic interventions that support participation and success within the educational environment. New graduates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate students to determine occupational therapy needs and eligibility for services.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and measurable therapy goals.
  • Provide direct occupational therapy services to preschool and school-aged students.
  • Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute to goal development.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, administrators, and multidisciplinary team members.
  • Recommend adaptive equipment, classroom accommodations, and therapeutic strategies.
  • Monitor student progress and modify treatment plans as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with school, state, and federal regulations.
  • Educate families and school staff on strategies to promote student independence and functional success.
  • Travel between multiple school sites within the Akron/Canton area as needed.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
  • Active Ohio Occupational Therapist license or eligibility to obtain licensure prior to start date.
  • Previous pediatric or school-based experience preferred but not required.
  • New graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Current CPR certification preferred.
  • NBCOT certification preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary educational team.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, approximately 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
