Job Summary and Qualifications

The Occupational Therapist PT plays a vital role in helping patients regain independence, confidence, and quality of life after illness or injury. They work closely with physicians and an interdisciplinary care team to evaluate needs, develop individualized care plans, and provide hands-on treatment.

  • Evaluate each patient’s functional abilities and needs, then develop individualized therapy plans in coordination with physicians and the care team.
  • Deliver skilled, evidence-based interventions that promote healing, independence, and quality of life through purposeful, compassionate care.
  • Monitor patient progress, adjust plans as needed, and ensure thorough, timely documentation that reflects quality outcomes.
  • Educate patients and families to build understanding, confidence, and engagement throughout recovery and beyond.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary partners to ensure seamless transitions of care, safe environments, and exceptional patient experiences.
  • Lead by example—provide guidance to therapy assistants or students and uphold HCA Healthcare’s mission, values, and commitment to excellence.

Qualifications

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date (OT)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy
