About the role
Therapy in the skilled nursing setting focuses on helping patients regain independence through activities that are important to their daily lives.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations
- Develop individualized treatment plans focusing on functional independence
- Collaborate with nursing, physical therapy, speech therapy, and social work teams to ensure coordinated patient care
- Address self-care skills, cognitive and perceptual deficits, home safety, adaptive equipment needs, and caregiver training
- Apply clinical reasoning and meet productivity expectations
Requirements
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Current or eligible for New York State OT license
- NBCOT certification (or eligible)
