About the role

Therapy in the skilled nursing setting focuses on helping patients regain independence through activities that are important to their daily lives.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations
  • Develop individualized treatment plans focusing on functional independence
  • Collaborate with nursing, physical therapy, speech therapy, and social work teams to ensure coordinated patient care
  • Address self-care skills, cognitive and perceptual deficits, home safety, adaptive equipment needs, and caregiver training
  • Apply clinical reasoning and meet productivity expectations

Requirements

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
  • Current or eligible for New York State OT license
  • NBCOT certification (or eligible)
