Responsibilities
- Initiate skilled occupational therapy treatments in accordance with physician orders and maintain required physician communication
- Complete and maintain written evaluations, progress notes, MDS documentation, and discharge summaries
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to address residents' rehabilitation and functional maintenance needs
- Participate in Resident Care Planning meetings and attend in the absence of the Director of Occupational Therapy when needed
- Maintain statistical records of resident treatments and therapy outcomes
- Assist with in-service education and training programs upon request
- Record, update, and monitor resident care plans
- Support residents in achieving their highest level of independence and functional ability
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program
- Current state Occupational Therapy license required
- Two years of occupational therapy experience preferred
- Interest in working with geriatric and subacute populations using a team-based approach
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Professional maturity, diplomacy, and the ability to work collaboratively with residents, families, and staff
- Career-oriented and committed to maintaining established standards of clinical excellence
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program
- Current state Occupational Therapy license required
Skills
- Ability to supervise and direct others when necessary
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
- Ability to work effectively with geriatric and chronically ill residents
