About the role

The Occupational Therapist plays a crucial role in enhancing patients' ability to perform daily tasks related to work and life. They conduct assessments, devise treatment plans based on physician referrals, and document patient progress in outpatient, inpatient, pediatric, and off-site settings.

Responsibilities

  • Review physician referrals and patient medical history to determine therapy needs.
  • Conduct and document patient evaluations, re-evaluations, and treatment plans according to department protocols.
  • Administer prescribed occupational therapy treatments and create custom equipment for individual needs.
  • Develop programs focusing on functional skills, vocational training, daily activities, and motor skills.
  • Monitor progress and adjust treatment goals and plans as necessary; participate in patient care conferences.
  • Educate patients and families on at-home treatment procedures.

Requirements

  • Licensed Occupational Therapist in the state of current practice or meet all qualifications for traineeship or temporary license in the state of current practice (required).
  • BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, required within 30 days for BSMH, required at hire for RSFH).
  • 2 years of experience in equivalent setting (preferred).

Skills & Abilities

  • Demonstrates appropriate application of age-specific standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines in caring for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Demonstrates general computer skills including data entry, word processing, email, and records management.
  • Analytical abilities to evaluate patient condition, capabilities, and progress.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact with co-workers, physicians, patients, and families.
  • Ability to work well with all levels of patients, the public, and other health care professionals.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills.

Pay

$55.00 per hour.
