About the Role
UK King's Daughter Medical Center, Acute Rehabilitation Unit in Ashland, KY, is seeking a PRN Occupational Therapist to join Lifepoint Rehabilitation, part of the Lifepoint Health network. This role allows you to contribute to a mission dedicated to making communities healthier by providing exceptional care to adult and geriatric patients in an adult medical rehabilitation program.
Responsibilities
- Assume responsibility and accountability for patient care provided by Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants, rehabilitation technicians, and occupational therapy students.
- Orient staff and students; assume supervisory duties in the absence of the supervisor as qualified.
- Assess patients' needs, initiate appropriate occupational therapy interventions, and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to maintain professional standards.
- Observe and evaluate treatment effectiveness, accomplishment of short and long-term goals, and recommend changes to physicians if needed.
- Perform accurate and timely assessments and reassessments per policy, including QI scoring.
- Assess patient pain interfering with optimal function and participation in rehabilitation; intervene to reduce pain and communicate with physicians as needed.
- Ensure all aspects of patient care prioritize safety and minimize the likelihood of medical/healthcare errors.
- Report patient progress and barriers to discharge in team conferences.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state where the hospital is located.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in all aspects of occupational therapy preferred but not required.
