About the role

HSHS Rehabilitation Hospital is a new 40-bed inpatient rehabilitation facility set to open in 2026, part of Lifepoint Health's diverse healthcare network. The hospital prioritizes patient well-being and seeks to make communities healthier.

Responsibilities

  • Provides occupational therapy evaluations, modalities, and treatments as prescribed by a licensed physician.
  • Affords patients with functional restoration and prevention of disability after injury, disease, or physical disability.
  • Assists patients in achieving maximum performance and functioning levels, teaching them to live within their capabilities.
  • Assumes responsibility and accountability for the care of patients under the supervision of Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants, rehabilitation technicians, and occupational therapy students.
  • Assists in orienting staff and students and assumes supervisory duties as qualified.
  • Assesses patients' needs, identifies appropriate interventions, and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Evaluates treatment effectiveness, sets and achieves short- and long-term goals, and recommends changes to physicians if necessary.
  • Performs assessments and reassessments as required by policy, and accurately scores quality improvement activities.
  • Treats adult and geriatric patients requiring an adult medical rehabilitation program and services.

Requirements

  • Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state where the hospital is located.
  • Previous experience in all aspects of occupational therapy preferred, but not required.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills in English with additional languages preferred.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
