The Occupational Therapist evaluates and treats patients of all ages, serving as a clinical resource and role model for staff and students.
Responsibilities
- Designing individualized care plans
- Performing patient assessments
- Adjusting treatments based on patient responses and evidence
- Educating patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare teams
- Documenting evaluations and treatment plans
- Monitoring care delivery by support personnel
- Collaborating with patients and families throughout rehabilitation, providing education and training as needed
- Supervising Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and rehabilitation technicians
- Communicating clearly regarding patient status and discharge planning
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Licensure as an Occupational Therapist
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
