About the role
Lady of the Sea General Hospital is dedicated to enhancing the well-being of its patients and staff. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the recovery and rehabilitation process.
Responsibilities
- Affords assessments of patients' abilities to perform occupational tasks safely and effectively.
- Develops and implements a comprehensive treatment plan, including the type and frequency of therapy sessions.
- Utilizes appropriate therapeutic modalities to facilitate patient progress.
- Documents patient progress, both subjective and objective, and adjusts the treatment plan as necessary.
- Seeks consultations when required to ensure the best care for patients.
- Educates patients and their families about their deficits and how to manage them.
- Plans and assists with the transition of patients from therapy services to other treatment settings.
- Provides guidance on selecting and using adaptive equipment and support programs.
- Supervises and delegates care to certified occupational therapy assistants and technicians, ensuring compliance with licensing laws, state regulations, and practice standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy
- Current State Licensure for Occupational Therapy
- Certified Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
Qualifications
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in using technology and software relevant to occupational therapy.
- Experience working with diverse populations.
