About the role
Provide personalized occupational therapy to patients in their homes.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients' needs, observe deficits, and establish therapy goals.
- Implement exercises to enhance fine motor skills and coordination.
- Recommend adaptive equipment to improve safety and independence.
- Assess fall risks and suggest strategies for home safety improvements.
- Educate patients and families on care plans, exercises, and self-care routines.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary home health team including RNs, LPNs, CNAs, HHAs, PTs, and SLPs.
- Document patient progress and maintain compliance with regulations.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Program with an active OT license in Virginia.
- Minimum of 2 years of OT experience, preferably in home healthcare.
- CPR certification and knowledge of home health regulations.
- Strong clinical judgment, interpersonal skills, and compassion.
