About the Role

The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) provides direct occupational therapy rehabilitation services under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist in a skilled nursing facility setting. The position involves implementing treatment plans, documenting patient progress, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to support patients with diverse post-acute needs, including long-term care and short-term rehabilitation.

Responsibilities

  • Follow occupational therapy treatment plans and document progress accurately
  • Assist patients in achieving functional goals and improving quality of life
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members
  • Maintain professional and confidential relationships and adhere to company policies
  • Participate in community health initiatives as appropriate
  • Ensure safety, proper body mechanics, and compliance with regulations
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service and dependable attendance
  • Perform various physical activities during work

Requirements

  • Current NBCOT certification and valid state licensure
  • Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program
  • CPR certification (or obtain during orientation)
  • Maintain active licensure and CPR certification
  • Demonstrate good body mechanics and participate in team efforts
  • Uphold confidentiality and compliance standards

Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and effective communication skills
  • Ability to make independent decisions and demonstrate professionalism

Qualifications

Preferred one year of experience; new graduates are welcome.
