About the Role
The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) provides direct occupational therapy care under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist in a skilled nursing facility setting.
Responsibilities
- Implement and follow individualized treatment plans to help patients achieve functional progress.
- Document patient progress accurately and timely using therapy software.
- Assist patients with rehabilitation activities to improve quality of life.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including nursing and medical staff, to coordinate care.
- Maintain patient safety, confidentiality, and adhere to all laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Participate in community health projects and demonstrate professional conduct.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and support staff.
- Help with patient evacuation and ensure a safe environment.
Requirements
- NBCOT certification.
- Current licensure in applicable state.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- CPR certification.
- At least one year of relevant experience preferred.
- Demonstrated good body mechanics, decision-making skills, professionalism, and teamwork.
