Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA)

About the Role

The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) provides direct rehabilitative occupational therapy care to patients under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT).

Responsibilities

• Implement treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist.
• Chart patient progress accurately and utilize therapy software.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Document patient progress and maintain thorough records.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Adhere to safety standards, policies, laws, and regulations.
• Function effectively within an interdisciplinary team environment.

Requirements

• NBCOT certification (renewal optional).
• Graduation from an accredited occupational therapy assistant program (ASOT).
• Current licensure in the applicable state in good standing.
• CPR certification, maintained throughout employment.
• Physical mobility, strong communication skills, and a positive attitude.

Qualifications

• Preferred experience in post-acute care or related settings.
