About the role
An Occupational Therapist provides comprehensive occupational therapy services, including screening, evaluation, treatment planning, implementation, re-assessment, discharge planning, and documentation. They collaborate with the healthcare team to meet patient goals and participate in program planning and protocol development.
Responsibilities
- Conduct evaluations by reviewing historical data, performing assessments, and documenting results.
- Explain findings and treatment plans to patients and families, involving them in goal setting.
- Implement treatment protocols based on evaluation outcomes, monitor patient progress, and modify plans as needed.
- Complete discharge planning and follow-up care with accurate documentation of patient care activities.
- Manage time effectively to meet productivity expectations and ensure patient access through flexibility and empathy.
- Take initiative in continuing education, serve as a clinical instructor, and assist with onboarding new staff and students.
Qualifications
- Possess a degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited school, with necessary licensure for the respective state(s).
- Maintain current Basic Life Support certification.
- Demonstrate professionalism, effective communication, and adaptability in a patient-centered environment.
