About the role

An Occupational Therapist provides comprehensive occupational therapy services, including screening, evaluation, treatment planning, implementation, re-assessment, discharge planning, and documentation. They collaborate with the healthcare team to meet patient goals and participate in program planning and protocol development.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct evaluations by reviewing historical data, performing assessments, and documenting results.
  • Explain findings and treatment plans to patients and families, involving them in goal setting.
  • Implement treatment protocols based on evaluation outcomes, monitor patient progress, and modify plans as needed.
  • Complete discharge planning and follow-up care with accurate documentation of patient care activities.
  • Manage time effectively to meet productivity expectations and ensure patient access through flexibility and empathy.
  • Take initiative in continuing education, serve as a clinical instructor, and assist with onboarding new staff and students.

Qualifications

  • Possess a degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited school, with necessary licensure for the respective state(s).
  • Maintain current Basic Life Support certification.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, effective communication, and adaptability in a patient-centered environment.
