About the role
An Occupational Therapist provides comprehensive occupational therapy services, including screening, evaluation, treatment planning, implementation, re-assessment, discharge planning, and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Conduct evaluations by reviewing history, performing assessments, and documenting findings; explain results and involve patients and families in goal setting.
- Implement treatment protocols based on evaluation outcomes, monitor patient progress, and consult with healthcare professionals as needed.
- Complete discharge planning and follow-up care; ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities, including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
- Manage time effectively, meet productivity expectations, and demonstrate flexibility and empathy to ensure seamless patient access to care.
- Engage in continuing education, serve as a clinical instructor, and assist in orientation and mentoring of new staff, students, volunteers, and technicians.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Licensure in Maryland, DC, or Virginia as required.
- American Heart Association BLS certification.
