Occupational Therapist (OTR)
Responsibilities
- Perform initial and ongoing evaluations of residents’ physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities
- Identify barriers to independence and functional performance
- Develop and implement individualized, goal-driven OT treatment plans
- Address mobility, self-care, social participation, and daily living skills
- Support recovery from injury, surgery, illness, or neurological conditions
- Assist residents managing chronic conditions such as arthritis, Parkinson’s disease, or post-stroke recovery
- Improve performance in activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating
- Recommend, train, and educate on adaptive equipment and assistive devices
- Promote emotional well-being through stress management and therapeutic activities
- Assess environments and recommend safety and accessibility modifications
- Provide cognitive interventions to support memory, problem-solving, and executive function
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including nursing, PT, SLP, and care staff
- Participate in care planning meetings to support holistic resident outcomes
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and ensure regulatory compliance
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school with a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy.
- License as required by the State of Wisconsin to practice as an Occupational Therapist.
