About the role

Our client in Louisville, KY has an immediate need for an Occupational Health & Safety Professional in a direct‑hire position. The client is a well‑established manufacturing organization with a large, complex Louisville operation that combines heavy industrial aluminum processing with packaging and finishing, employing approximately 650 people. This role offers an early‑career EHS professional an excellent environment to gain significant hands‑on experience within a sophisticated manufacturing setting. The Occupational Health & Safety Professional will serve as a highly visible, boots‑on‑the‑ground safety resource supporting employees, supervisors, engineers, and plant leadership throughout the facility. Approximately 70% of the time will be spent on the manufacturing floor, with the remaining 30% dedicated to documentation, investigations, training, reporting, and other EHS activities. The professional will work closely with the EHS Manager and broader plant team to implement and sustain safety systems and help develop a more proactive approach to workplace safety. Success in this role includes establishing credibility and productive relationships with frontline employees, supervisors, engineers, and plant leadership; becoming a visible and approachable safety resource; independently identifying hazards and addressing unsafe behaviors; communicating safety requirements confidently and professionally; demonstrating curiosity and the ability to quickly learn complex processes and EHS requirements; collaborating effectively with operations, engineering, and other EHS team members; helping employees understand why safety requirements matter; contributing to a proactive safety culture focused on identifying and reducing risk before incidents occur; and continuing to develop technical EHS knowledge under experienced leadership.
