Obstetrics Surgical Tech PRN

About the role

As an O/R Scrub Tech, you will perform specific non-licensed or non-professional duties of patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, providing safe and effective patient care during surgical and other invasive procedures. You will perform routine scrub and delegated duties according to AORN standards and department policies, assist in maintaining a safe environment, and stay current with operating room techniques, procedures, instruments, supplies, and equipment while supporting the ongoing Performance Improvement Program.

Responsibilities

• Perform specific non-licensed or non-professional patient care duties under RN supervision.
• Provide safe and effective patient care during surgical and other invasive procedures as the surgical scrub tech.
• Perform routine scrub and delegated duties according to AORN standards and department policies.
• Assist in maintaining a safe environment for all.
• Keep current with operating room techniques, procedures, instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Assist with the ongoing Performance Improvement Program.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Operating Room Scrub Technician Certification (CST) or completion of an accredited Surgical Scrub Technician program, or equivalent experience working as a scrub tech.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification, or must obtain within 30 days of employment start date.
• Minimum of one year of surgery experience (preferred).
• Skilled in all surgical service lines: Gynecology, General, Robotics, Orthopedics, Neuro, Vascular, Urology, and ENT.
• Minimum one year of experience as an OR Tech or OB Tech.
