About the role

The OB Surgical Technologist PRN provides direct and indirect perioperative nursing tasks for patients requiring surgical intervention or vaginal delivery, assisting the Labor and Delivery team in the care of patients, equipment, and supplies. The role includes care for neonatal and newborn infants, adolescent patients aged 12‑17, and adult patients aged 18‑50. Menorah Medical Center is a 190‑bed acute‑care hospital in Overland Park and Leawood, Kansas, part of HCA Healthcare, offering advanced services such as a Robotic Surgery Center of Excellence, Breast Center of Excellence, Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute, Genitourinary Cancer clinic, Women’s Center, Bariatric Program, and inpatient rehabilitation.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect perioperative nursing tasks for patients requiring surgical intervention or vaginal delivery.
• Assist the Labor and Delivery team in the care of patients, equipment, and supplies.
• Provide care for neonatal and newborn infants, adolescent patients (12‑17 years), and adult patients (18‑50 years).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of a Surgical Technician Program.
• Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) as recognized by the NBSTSA preferred.
• Current Basic Life Saving (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required.
• One‑year previous experience in a perioperative or obstetrical setting preferred.
