About the Role
The Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the non-tenure academic clinician track. The academic clinician track emphasizes clinical and teaching excellence.
Responsibilities
- Instruct medical students, residents, and fellows rotating through the operating rooms of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP) and the Penn Presbyterian Medical Center (PPMC).
- Participate in lectures, small groups, workshops, and/or simulation sessions.
- Provide obstetrical anesthesia care at HUP.
- Provide anesthesia care in the operating rooms and non-operating room anesthesia procedural areas at HUP, PPMC, Penn Medicine University City, and other locations staffed by the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care.
- Serve on Department committees and in administrative leadership positions, as appropriate.
Requirements
- M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
- ABA certification in anesthesiology, the equivalent, or status as a candidate in the examination system.
- Ability to obtain a Pennsylvania medical license.
Qualifications
Fellowship training in obstetric anesthesiology and/or extensive experience providing obstetric anesthesia care (ideally three years) is strongly preferred.
