Obstetrical Anesthesiologist – Associate/Full Professor

About the role

The Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Associate or Full Professor positions in the non-tenure academic clinician track.

Responsibilities

• Instruction of medical students, residents, and fellows rotating through the operating rooms of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP) and the Penn Presbyterian Medical Center (PPMC).
• Participation in lectures, small groups, workshops, and/or simulation sessions.
• Provision of obstetrical anesthesia care at HUP.
• Provision of anesthesia care in operating rooms and non-operating room anesthesia procedural areas at HUP, PPMC, Penn Medicine University City, and other locations staffed by the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care.
• Serving on Department committees.
• Serving in administrative leadership positions, as appropriate.

Requirements

• M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
• ABA certification in anesthesiology, equivalent, or status as a candidate in the examination system.
• Ability to obtain a Pennsylvania license.
• Fellowship training in obstetric anesthesiology and/or extensive experience providing obstetric anesthesia care (ideally three years) is strongly preferred.
