About the role

The Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Kansas Medical Center will provide comprehensive, evidence-based anesthesia care across a range of surgical and procedural settings. This faculty member will serve in a clinical educator role with responsibility for the education and supervision of residents, student registered nurse anesthetists (SRNAs), and medical students.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care through the delivery of anesthesia services across surgical and procedural settings.
  • Serve as a clinical educator, instructing and mentoring medical students, SRNAs, and residents in clinical and educational settings.
  • Supervise certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs) and nurse practitioners (NPs) as part of a collaborative anesthesia care team.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, conferences, and faculty activities as permitted by clinical and academic responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, Doctor of Medicine, or equivalent.
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in anesthesiology.
