About the role

This position is located at Department 02250 FLMG Rome Obstetrics, 15 Riverbend Dr. It is a full-time role with benefits eligibility.

Responsibilities

  • Affirms health status through advanced physical examination and medical history skills.
  • Designs and implements individualized health care management plans collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.
  • Identifies and addresses abnormal health findings promptly.
  • Supports the cultural, psychosocial, language, and physically challenged needs of the patient and their family.
  • Operates within the guidelines of the Nursing Practice Act, the Medical Practice Act, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Serves as a role model and clinical resource in all aspects of job performance and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates appropriate critical thinking, interpersonal skills, prioritization, and concentration.
  • Affirms own practice needs and those of the healthcare team, developing strategies to meet these needs.
  • Participates in committees and research activities as appropriate.

Physical Requirements

  • Requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling.
  • Must be able to lift and support up to 35 pounds.
  • Must speak English fluently and clearly.
  • Must have intact senses of sight, hearing, smell, touch, and finger dexterity.
  • Must be able to respond and perform in stressful situations.

Education, Experience & Certifications

  • Completion of a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and a graduate-level Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) program is required.
  • A license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) is required.
  • Certification by the American Midwifery Certification Board and approval to practice as a Nurse Midwife in the state where employed are required.
  • BLS certification is required according to policy guidelines.
  • Three years of experience in labor and delivery is preferred.

Functions Independently

Works independently in an inpatient care setting, clinic, or office setting, collaborating with a supervising physician. Provides care for laboring patients and may include obstetrical and gynecological care in the clinic or office setting.
