OB Laborist

About the role

As our OB Laborist physician, you will join our dynamic healthcare team in Federal Way, specializing in diagnosing and treating a wide array of women’s health cases, making a significant impact on their lives and families. You will provide compassionate and expert care, conducting thorough assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support the holistic well-being of our patients and their families within Franciscan Medical Group.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24 hour on-site labor and delivery coverage
• Collaborate with Certified Nurse Midwives (CNM’s) and provide emergency department coverage for gynecologic emergencies and surgeries
• Conduct vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, dilation and curettage (D&C), and laparoscopy procedures
• Manage high-risk obstetric cases
• Participate in the care of infants as young as 32 weeks in the special care nursery
• Coordinate with partner facilities for higher-level neonatal care when needed

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
• Board certification or eligibility in OB/GYN
• Active or eligible license in the state of Washington
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
• Commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care to patients and families

Schedule

• Full-time position based at St. Francis Hospital in Federal Way, WA
• Approximately 7 twenty-four hour on-site shifts per month
• Total of 91 shifts per year
• Group includes 5 OB/GYN physicians, 6 Certified Nurse Midwives, and 2 Advanced Practice Providers
• Approximately 120 deliveries per month
