About the role

To inspire and prepare each and every scholar with the confidence, courage and competence to achieve their dreams; contribute to community; and engage in a lifetime of learning by providing specialized clerical and technical duties related to the assignment or placement. This role requires creative solutions to specialized site/department needs, handling highly confidential and sensitive information, and interacting with a diverse group of external customers as well as internal contacts at all levels of the organization. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload, and make recommendations for changes in office practices or procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Customer Service
    • Deliver customer service that embodies the District mission.
    • Assist site/department leaders with communications.
    • Act as a liaison between site/department staff.
    • Communicate and coordinate services with internal and external vendors to ensure adequate service to the school system.
  • General Office
    • Support multiple site, departmental, and/or program initiatives.
    • Schedule and prepare materials to be distributed to sites.
    • Order supplies and track inventory of curriculum materials.
    • Attend meetings with sites/departments as needed.
    • Develop and distribute communications to site/department and internal/external vendors.
    • Clean, restock, and send out science kits to sites.
    • Unpack pallets of materials, take inventory, and box materials to send to sites.
  • Records
    • Scan and/or retrieve information/materials located on the system’s network/warehouse.
    • Create and/or enter data into spreadsheets and/or databases.
    • Prepare, maintain, and update records of curriculum materials.
    • Create, update, and maintain handbooks, manuals, and curriculum materials.
  • Organizational Management
    • Provide work direction for special projects/assignments.
    • Perform other comparable duties of a like or similar nature as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.

Skills

  • Understanding of data entry concepts.
  • Knowledge of spreadsheet and database management software, and word processing skills.
  • Fundamentals of general office and administrative procedures and operational requirements.
  • Understanding of office equipment and typical productivity software, databases, or customized systems/applications.
  • Knowledge of basic record retention, record/file/database maintenance requirements.
  • Understanding of data privacy requirements, laws, and rules as they pertain to job assignments.
  • Attributes of an efficacious learner: resourceful, self-directed, responsible, problem solver, and skilled communicator.
  • Ability to collaboratively solve problems.
  • Ability to work in an organized, efficient, and process-oriented manner.
  • Ability to apply and follow record-keeping procedures and protocols to maintain and process data.
  • Ability to perform work assignments requiring attention to detail, confidentiality, precision, and accuracy in accordance with set deadlines.
  • Ability to perform assigned functions with minimal direction in accordance with established departmental operations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with materials/resource management.

Pay

$21.00 - $23.14 / Hourly (based on the Osseo Administrative Professionals bargaining unit salary grid).
