NYS Process Engineer
About the role
The Process Engineer will be responsible for developing and optimizing operating procedures and product development, leading quality improvement efforts, minimizing variability in the steelmaking process, developing grades for specialized applications, providing training to operating personnel, and providing metallurgical assistance to technical service representatives and customers. They will analyze production and quality data to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction. The selected candidate will collaborate with operations, maintenance, and quality teams to improve safety, productivity, quality, and yield throughout the mill.
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize operating procedures and product development
- Lead quality improvement efforts and minimize variability in the steelmaking process
- Develop grades for specialized applications
- Provide training to operating personnel
- Provide metallurgical assistance to technical service representatives and customers
- Analyze production and quality data to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and quality teams to improve safety, productivity, quality, and yield throughout the mill
Requirements
- 4-year degree in Metallurgy, Material Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, or Chemical Engineering
- Demonstrated experience with process improvement, quality control, data analysis, or manufacturing operations

Preferences
- 1+ years industrial engineering experience
- 5 years of working experience in one of the degree fields above
- Experience in relevant steelmaking processes
