Purchasing Goods

Understands and follows managed order guides and processes for each supplier.
Manages appropriate inventory levels and assists with reducing waste.
Decides what and how much to order using PAR levels, engaging culinary members along with using other Intermountain tools.

Inventory Management

Aware of and practices safe food storage guidelines as outlined by ServSafe.
Tracks and reports key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
Aids in keeping storage areas clean and organized and ensures all Joint Commission and Health Department guidelines are followed.

Essential Functions

  • Understand and follow managed order guides and processes for each supplier.
  • Manage appropriate inventory levels and assist with reducing waste.
  • Make purchasing decisions based on PAR levels, involving culinary members and utilizing other Intermountain tools.
  • Ensure compliance with safe food storage guidelines as outlined by ServSafe.
  • Report key performance metrics to optimize cost reduction and operational efficiency.
  • Keep storage areas clean and organized, adhering to Joint Commission and Health Department guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Food Handler Permit (as required by State/County) or ServSafe certification within one week of hire.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize safe food handling techniques, in all applications.
  • Understanding of workflow, prioritization, use of timelines, and adherence to deadlines.
  • Ability to read, understand, and apply procedures and instructions.

Physical Requirements

  • Interact with co-workers requiring verbal communication and understanding spoken information.
  • Operate food service equipment or computer requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.
  • See and read labels, monitors, and documents.
  • Carry, push/pull, and walk while transporting food, supplies, and service equipment.
  • Climb, squat, kneel, and lift (up to 50 pounds) to clean equipment and retrieve food and supplies.
  • Stand for long periods of time to perform work.
  • Tolerate extremes in temperature such as working in a fridge or freezer.

Posting Specifics

Pay Rate: Based on Experience
Shift Details: 40 hours per week / full time benefits
Monday - Friday 6am - 2:30pm - Holidays as needed
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40
The hourly range for this position is $21.02 - $29.72.
