Procurement Specialist

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, process, and monitor purchase orders to ensure timely delivery and uninterrupted pharmacy operations
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors while negotiating pricing, lead times, and purchasing agreements
  • Collaborate with Inventory, Warehouse, Finance, and Pharmacy Operations to maintain appropriate inventory levels and prevent product shortages
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records, vendor files, pricing information, and procurement documentation
  • Resolve purchasing discrepancies, shipment delays, invoice variances, and backorder issues
  • Analyze purchasing trends and spending data to support operational and financial decision-making

What We Require

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of two (2) years of procurement, purchasing, or supply chain experience
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience using procurement, purchasing, inventory management, or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software
  • Strong organizational, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, and Word

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience working in a 503A or 503B compounding pharmacy environment
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, manufacturing, or another regulated industry
  • Familiarity with FDA, USP, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements
  • Experience using ERP, purchasing, or inventory management software
  • Professional procurement or supply chain certification (CPIM, CPSM, or CIPS) is a plus
