Responsibilities

  • Assists in the operation of automatic nut formers with 5 forming dies and automatic feeding mechanisms.
  • Trains and assists with moving controls to cycle machines through settings, stopping machine, and adjusting machine controls.
  • Supports with the positioning and securing of the heading wire onto stock feeding mechanism.
  • Supports with the adjustment of specific tooling and transfer fingers at each station.
  • Supports with starting machine, observing operation, and inspecting first run and sample work pieces to ensure machine conforms to specifications.
  • Supports with the inspection of parts using micrometers, gauges, and other measuring tools to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Supports with replacing worn tooling.
  • Operates lath and grinder to recondition or modify tooling when applicable.
  • Performs Statistical Process Control (SPC) checks per specification and acts in accordance with output.
  • Reads blueprint or job order for product specifications such as dimensions, tolerance, number or parts to be formed, and tooling instruction on type tooling required.
  • Performs record keeping, data entry, housekeeping, and follows safety regulations.
  • Implements and suggests waste elimination initiatives specifically related to the function and department such as recycling opportunities and elimination of paper waste.
  • Complies with the rules and regulations set forth by Federal, Local, and State government, LISI Aerospace, and HSE Procedures.
  • Brought any known or suspected nonconformance for all company procedures or legal requirements to management’s attention immediately.
  • Continually seeks opportunities to improve HSE performance by establishing objectives and targets, measuring progress, and reporting results.
  • Other duties assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Working experience in fastener manufacturing environment.
  • Advance knowledge of nut forming machinery and procedures.
  • Working knowledge with quality and SPC.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years experience or equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
  • Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts and calculations.
  • Knowledge of SPC and departmental applications (Shop Floor System).
