About the role
This part-time, days-shift position at Piedmont Fayette Hospital promotes and maintains quality patient care, ensuring safety and well-being across the organization. The role involves coordinating with Admissions and Bed Control to optimize patient flow, monitoring bed availability, and implementing surge capacity measures. You will supervise nursing staff, manage shift-to-shift staffing, and serve as the on-site hospital administrator after normal business hours. Responsibilities include assessing requests for administrator-on-call contact, overseeing hospital activities in the absence of Administration or department directors, and coordinating disaster plan activation when necessary. Strong nursing knowledge and leadership abilities are essential.
Responsibilities
- Promote and maintain quality patient care that ensures safety and well-being on assigned shifts.
- Plan, direct, and coordinate with Admissions and Bed Control to facilitate patient flow and provide optimal service.
- Monitor bed availability and implement surge capacity measures as needed.
- Supervise nursing staff and coordinate staffing on a shift-to-shift basis.
- Serve as the designated on-site hospital administrator after normal business hours.
- Assess all requests for administrator-on-call contact during your shift.
- Oversee all hospital activities in the absence of Administration and/or department directors.
- Work with the Administrator on-call to determine disaster plan activation and coordinate related activities.
- Conduct rounds and maintain open communication with all staff.
Requirements
- Graduate from a nursing program (Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing preferred).
- 3+ years of nursing experience in a hospital setting with demonstrated clinical competency.
- Active RN - Registered Nurse licensure in Georgia (or NLC/eNLC Multistate Licensure).
- Current BCLS - Basic Life Support certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification.
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification.
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation certification.
