About the Role

This position is responsible for promoting and maintaining quality patient care that ensures the safety and well-being of all patients throughout the organization during the assigned shift. The role involves planning, directing, and coordinating with Admissions and Bed Control to facilitate patient flow and provide optimum service to all customers. The individual will monitor bed availability, implement surge capacity measures as needed, and supervise nursing staff while coordinating shift-to-shift staffing.

As the designated on-site hospital administrator after normal business hours, this role assesses all requests for administrator-on-call contact during the shift and oversees all hospital activities in the absence of Administration or department directors. The position also works under the direction of the Administrator on-call to determine the activation of the disaster plan and coordinates related activities. Regular rounds and open communication with all staff are essential, requiring a sound knowledge of nursing practice and exceptional leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise nursing staff and coordinate staffing on a shift-to-shift basis.
  • Serve as the designated on-site hospital administrator after normal business hours.
  • Assess all requests for administrator-on-call contact during the shift.
  • Oversee all activities within the hospital in the absence of Administration and/or department directors.

Requirements

  • Graduate from a nursing program (Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing preferred).
  • 3 years of nursing experience in a hospital setting.
  • Demonstrated clinical competency.

Qualifications

  • RN - Registered Nurse licensure in Georgia State and/or NLC/eNLC Multistate Licensure (Required).
  • BCLS - Basic Life Support certification (Required).
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (Preferred).
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (Preferred).
  • NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation (Preferred).
