Job Duties
- Provides interpretation of hospital policies and procedures to staff.
- Initiates appropriate and immediate corrective action when established policy/procedure is not followed.
- Provides direction in all emergencies.
- Makes sure staff are using resources correctly.
- Facilitates communication between different parts of the hospital.
- Communicates issues, actions to hospital administration and department heads.
- Works proactively to ensure there are enough resources for patient care.
- Makes sure the hospital follows all rules and regulations.
- Demonstrates competence as an on-site manager during the absence of the administrator.
- Identifies and reports potential risks.
- Adjusts staffing levels in nursing departments based on changes in patient acuity, census, and addresses sick calls, no-shows, and staffing issues.
- Participates in hospital's Performance Improvement activities by educating and monitoring staff.
Education + Experience Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program.
- Valid NJ RN License.
- BSN preferred.
- BLS, ACLS, PALS - AHA approved.
