NURSING SUPERVISOR

Job Duties

• Provides interpretation of hospital policies and procedures to staff.
• Initiates appropriate and immediate corrective action when established policy/procedure is not followed.
• Provides direction in all emergencies.
• Makes sure staff are using resources correctly.
• Facilitates communication between different parts of the hospital.
• Communicates issues, actions to hospital administration and department heads.
• Works proactively to ensure there are enough resources for patient care.
• Makes sure the hospital follows all rules and regulations.
• Demonstrates competence as an on-site manager during the absence of the administrator.
• Identifies and reports potential risks.
• Adjusts staffing levels in nursing departments based on changes in patient acuity, census, and addresses sick calls, no-shows, and staffing issues.
• Participates in hospital's Performance Improvement activities by educating and monitoring staff.

Education + Experience Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program.
• Valid NJ RN License.
• BSN preferred.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS - AHA approved.
