About the Role
The Nursing Supervisor oversees administrative and patient care functions within Nursing Services, coordinating staffing, admissions, transfers, and discharges during assigned shifts. They act within delegated authority to ensure quality care and compliance with policies, providing direct nursing care when necessary.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with leadership to set goals, recommend improvements, evaluate staffing needs, and resolve operational issues related to patient flow.
- Analyze nursing service problems, suggest updates to procedures, and make budgetary recommendations to enhance efficiency and care quality.
- Manage staffing patterns and coordinate communication for admissions and discharges.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and provide nursing care as needed within scope.
- Evaluate service delivery and recommend process improvements to maintain high standards of patient care.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved nursing program or BSN per policy.
- North Carolina RN licensure, BCLS, ACLS, and CPI certifications (CPI within 1 year).
- Specialty certifications such as CEN, RN-BC, PCCN, or NE-BC preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant nursing experience.
