Nursing Services Consultant
Description of Work
This position supports statewide efforts to guide, strengthen, and monitor the Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome Program. The role involves providing technical assistance, managing case information, and supporting training, reporting, and program improvement activities. As a Nursing Services Consultant, you will perform the following duties:
- Program Support: Assist with development, implementation, and ongoing work of the NAS Program
- Technical Guidance: Provide support to hospitals, birthing centers, and midwives to ensure accurate electronic reporting
- Training Development: Create materials, identify educational needs, and communicate with providers statewide
- Case Management: Review reports, document case actions, and ensure activities follow national standards
- Data Quality: Conduct quality assurance checks and summarize findings for reporting and improvement
- Representation Duties: Participate in meetings, workgroups, and conferences on behalf of the NAS Program
Qualifications Required
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of professional nursing experience; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements: This position requires active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania. If you possess an active temporary practice permit, you must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
Other Requirements: PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
