Full-time position (1.00 FTE) with varied day shift hours.

About the Role

The Nursing Professional Development Generalist supports the quality of care provided to patients by Department of Nursing staff through optimal orientation programs, ongoing evaluation of competence, and support of lifelong learning. The Nursing Professional Development Specialist promotes relevant professional development opportunities and mentorship for members of the department of nursing at all levels to assist with the achievement of personal and professional goals. This position focuses on the education of Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) nursing staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing
  • At least three (3) years’ experience as a registered nurse
  • Must obtain Master’s degree in nursing or related field within five (5) years of hire
  • Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact
  • AHA BLS certification prior to end of orientation period

Preferred Qualifications

  • Pediatric ICU experience preferred
