Nursing Manager (RN) - Obstetrics

About the Role

This position provides leadership and support to the senior executive (CNO) overseeing nursing and patient care services within the hospital. The role involves assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing practices at the unit level, with 24/7 responsibility for assigned areas. The incumbent ensures delivery of high-quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care, maintains staff competency, and manages resources effectively.

Responsibilities

• Support the CNO in maintaining clinical excellence and patient safety
• Lead nursing teams and ensure compliance with hospital standards
• Manage staffing, resources, and operational functions within assigned areas
• Serve as a role model and advocate for nursing professionalism

Requirements

• Active registered nurse license in the practice state
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing required; master’s preferred, or commitment to obtain within 2 years
• Minimum of 2 years management experience in a hospital setting
• At least 2 years of experience in a Special Care Nursery
• Effective interpersonal, communication, leadership, and hospital operational skills
