About the Role
Responsible for the 24-hour management of a patient care unit, service, or program, overseeing staff, operations, and quality of care in a neonatal intensive care setting. This day-shift role involves managing a team of over 50 employees with responsibilities in staffing, budgeting, staff development, and quality assurance.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate patient care delivery and ensure quality standards.
- Develop and monitor staffing, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Perform human resource activities including hiring, evaluation, coaching, and discipline.
- Collaborate on quality improvement initiatives and develop unit-specific performance indicators.
- Ensure availability of appropriate supplies, equipment, and staff training to meet patient needs.
- Lead projects to address organizational or patient requirements.
- Set and evaluate unit goals and personal performance objectives.
- Supervise staff, including performance management and disciplinary actions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
- RN license in good standing.
- Minimum of three years RN experience, with two in relevant areas.
- Management/supervisory experience preferred.
- Current RN license recognized by the NCSBN Compact; specialty certification preferred.
