Nursing Manager - Emergency Department

About the Role

Directs overall operational functions for assigned areas, reporting to the Director of Surgical Services. Sets priorities for data collection related to performance improvement programs aligned with organizational goals. Projects volumes, needs, and clinical services annually, justifying variances and initiating corrective actions. Ensures effective communication and information sharing across departments.

Responsibilities

• Functions as an expert in the management of patient care in the clinical area.
• Facilitates and participates in teams to plan, implement, and evaluate optimal patient care delivery systems.
• Develops annual staff development goals and performs routine staff appraisals to address professional growth.
• Directs ongoing activities of personnel related to skills competency and adherence to staffing policies.
• Accountable for 24/7 coverage of the unit.
• Manages budget, payroll, and productivity of staffing for the unit.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
• Five years of relevant clinical experience plus three years of management experience.
• Current licensure as a registered nurse by the Maryland Board of Nursing.
• CPR - American Heart Association health care provider certification.

Pay

$120,000—$142,000 USD
