Position Overview
The Nursing Home Administrator is responsible for the overall leadership and management of facility operations, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations while promoting outstanding clinical outcomes, resident satisfaction, employee engagement, and financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all day-to-day operations of the facility
- Maintain survey readiness and lead successful state and federal inspections
- Manage budgeting, financial planning, and operational performance initiatives
- Support and develop department leaders to achieve facility goals
- Promote a culture of quality care, resident satisfaction, and customer service excellence
- Collaborate with physicians, consultants, and healthcare partners to support clinical programs and outcomes
- Implement and monitor facility policies, procedures, and performance standards
- Lead recruitment, retention, employee engagement, and leadership development efforts
- Foster a positive, resident-centered environment for residents, families, and staff
- Ensure the facility maintains a safe, clean, and welcoming atmosphere
- Drive census growth and strengthen community relationships
Qualifications
- Active Iowa Nursing Home Administrator (NHA) license in good standing required
- Minimum of two (2) years of Nursing Home Administrator experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting
- Strong leadership, team-building, and staff development skills
- Thorough knowledge of Iowa and federal long-term care regulations
- Experience with budgeting, financial management, and operational oversight
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Demonstrated commitment to quality care and resident satisfaction
