About the role
This position involves supervising nursing staff, coordinating patient care, and managing departmental operations in a clinical setting. The role includes determining staffing needs, assigning patients based on acuity and skill, and acting as a clinical consultant for patients, families, and staff.
Responsibilities
- Supervise staff scheduling, patient assignments, and clinical workflows.
- Participate in recruitment, hiring, orientation, and ongoing education of staff.
- Mentor, coach, and evaluate team members to support professional growth.
- Ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and standards, and contribute to policy updates.
- Serve as a liaison between staff and management and participate in performance improvement initiatives.
- Provide direct patient care when necessary and oversee supply and equipment management.
- Assume Nurse Manager duties in their absence and handle "on call" responsibilities.
Qualifications & Skills
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing program, with a Bachelor's in Nursing or in progress.
- Minimum of three years of clinical nursing experience.
- Current RN license, CPR certification, and professional specialty certification as applicable.
- Preferred: Prior supervisory experience and professional certifications.
Work Environment & Additional Duties
- Work in clinical and office settings with exposure to equipment and disinfectants.
- Engage in physical activities such as walking, standing, and lifting.
- Serve patients of all age groups while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
- Supervise a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, aides, technicians, and administrative staff.
