About the role

This position involves supervising nursing staff, coordinating patient care, and managing departmental operations in a clinical setting. The role includes determining staffing needs, assigning patients based on acuity and skill, and acting as a clinical consultant for patients, families, and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise staff scheduling, patient assignments, and clinical workflows.
  • Participate in recruitment, hiring, orientation, and ongoing education of staff.
  • Mentor, coach, and evaluate team members to support professional growth.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and standards, and contribute to policy updates.
  • Serve as a liaison between staff and management and participate in performance improvement initiatives.
  • Provide direct patient care when necessary and oversee supply and equipment management.
  • Assume Nurse Manager duties in their absence and handle "on call" responsibilities.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing program, with a Bachelor's in Nursing or in progress.
  • Minimum of three years of clinical nursing experience.
  • Current RN license, CPR certification, and professional specialty certification as applicable.
  • Preferred: Prior supervisory experience and professional certifications.

Work Environment & Additional Duties

  • Work in clinical and office settings with exposure to equipment and disinfectants.
  • Engage in physical activities such as walking, standing, and lifting.
  • Serve patients of all age groups while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
  • Supervise a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, aides, technicians, and administrative staff.
