Nursing Coordinator - Operating Room

About the role

This position involves supervising nursing staff and ensuring adequate staffing for 24-hour patient care coverage. Responsibilities include assigning patients based on acuity and staff skills, acting as a clinical consultant, and participating in recruitment, orientation, and staff development. The role requires monitoring compliance with policies, facilitating performance improvement, and acting as a liaison between staff and management. The individual provides direct patient care when necessary, oversees supply management, and participates in clinical ladder programs. Additional duties include mentoring staff, conducting performance appraisals, and stepping in for the Nurse Manager during their absence.

Responsibilities

• Supervise nursing staff and ensure adequate staffing for 24-hour patient care coverage

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing program with a Bachelor's in Nursing
• At least two years of clinical experience
• Leadership experience is preferred
• Valid New York State RN license
• CPR certification
• Completion of relevant specialty certification within three years

Work Environment & Patient Demographics

Work is performed in both office and patient care areas, requiring PPE use and adherence to infection control policies. Serves patients of all age groups, with access to sensitive patient information at Level 4 security.
